The Susquehanna Recovery Alliance will hold its annual Recovery Fair on Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Montrose Green to highlight the miracle of recovery from substance use disorder, provide information on pathways to recovery, and show the community that recovery is not only possible, but also achievable. The event, which is being held in observance of National Recovery Month, is free and open to the public. The event will feature free food, music by Northeastern Pennsylvania’s premier blues band, The Merchants of Groove, and stories of hope from recovery speakers. There will be lots of fun activities for adults and children alike, including a cornhole tournament, bounce house, face painting, and photo booth. Exhibitors from treatment facilities, social service agencies and other organizations will provide information about how to access recovery and reduce harm. Free doses of the lifesaving overdose-reversal drug Narcan and information about how to use it will also be available.
